The Isle of Wight's first dedicated cookery school

SOON

The Epicurean Sailor Cookery School

Back in 2021 I set out on my journey towards becoming a professionally trained private chef, with a vision to start my very own cookery school here on the Isle of Wight.

Fast forward three years and my dream is set to become reality, with the opening of The Epicurean Cookery School in early summer 2024!

Located in the seaside village of Gurnard on the edge of Cowes, arguably the sailing capital of the world, my cookery school will offer a broad range of cooking classes for all levels, including my new 'Eatwell at Uni' course aimed at students leaving home for the first time and my 'Eatwell Afloat' course for prospective bluewater sailors planning their first long distance passages at sea.

In addition there'll be plenty of classes suitable for home cooks of all abilities, ranging from absolute beginner through to more ambitious cooks hoping to learn or perfect new cooking skills such as pasta making, fish cookery and patisserie. Classes will run with a maximum of 6 students, ensuring plenty of one-on-one tuition in a relaxed, purpose-designed environment.

I'm passionate about our fabulous island and supporting our incredible food and drink producers and my courses will be designed to put them first and foremost as much as possible. My five day cookery courses will include visits to some of my favourite suppliers, and there'll be the occasional guest chef class with some of our leading island chefs to showcase the breadth of food and drink available here on the Isle of Wight.

Finally, I'll also be hosting my regular feast nights and offering private dining options at the cookery school - so whether your interest lies in cooking, eating or maybe a bit of both, there'll be plenty of reasons to keep following for regular updates!
